First of all, let me say that I’m sure Mike Koenigs, Co-founder of traffic geyser, and his business partners are probably all really nice people. I have no personal knowledge of the management of Traffic Geyser, but internet “gurus” who promote this service as a great tool to boost search engine optimization by distributing videos to multiple video sharing sites.Great idea – great service – Cool!
Whether you are new to on line marketing or simply have not yet added video promotion as part of your marketing strategy this is an idea you definitely want to take a look at. Adding video is a good idea due to the fact that Bing, Google, Yahoo and other often accessed search engines have a habit of ranking videos over some other types of material. And the combination of video used to promote good written content is even an extra plus! (We’ll talk more about that at another time.)
)
One of the most popular systems you’ll find to aid you in promoting your videos across the internet is Traffic Geyser. When I first investigated Traffic Geyser as part of my overall marketing strategy, I could get the first 30 days for $1 and if I was satisfied with the service after the trial period, the monthly fee was about $100 ($97 to be exact).
It almost goes without saying that it was a REALLY BIG SURPRISE when I got around to putting the video piece into my marketing puzzle, that the $1 trail period was, as they say, HISTORY! (I mean, couldn’t they have increased On top of that, instead of $97 per month, they want you to pay for the whole year up front! However, for those whose budget doesn’t allow for an up front investment of $2,497 you have the option of 3 “easy” payments of “only” $867 each. Wow! That’s a big price jump – kind of like an eruption! (Get it? Geyser – Eruption? Okay, so it’s a little hokey.)
One of the first Success Stories on the Traffic Geyser website is “From Sofa to Success” which tells us about Brian Zimmerman, “an unemployed, homeless former Marine who made $4,600 in less than 45 days” using this system. Brian’s story really gives you hope for great results – even with the “results not typical” disclaimer, and the fact that he was able to make some money quickly using Traffic Geyser and that he helped a local business owner in the process makes it even better.
Personally, I found one of the responses to the Brian Zimmerman “Success Stories – Case Study” quite interesting. Chris Johnston says: “I have been using some of the principles in the movie the Secret and looking for that next opportunity to come along and then an email arrived in my inbox with this system. I do have one question though. If he was broke and had $0 how did he afford the traffic geyser system?”
The answer from Traffic Geyser to the Chris Johnston question is worth noting. Here it is: “Great question Chris. He found a way to make it happen because his future dreams were stronger than his current circumstances. Heck he’s a Marine!”
I could be wrong, but if Brian Zimmerman, the “poster child” for success with Traffic Geyser would have had to come up with even one of the “3 easy Payments of $867″ you likely would never have seen Brian’s attractive face on the Traffic Geyser website.
A review of Traffic Geyser back in March 2008 when it was a relatively new service (newinfluencer.com/traffic-geyser-review) had this to say.
“The software itself is pretty basic – it basically provides an interface that allows you to upload a video file, add data that will be passed on to the video sharing site, and then submit the file to a number of video sharing sites. It isn’t fundamentally different than a list of links to major video sharing sites except you save time by only uploading the video once (whether that is worth $100 per month is questionable in my mind)’. Traffic Geyser simply saves you a bit of time adding video to video sharing sites, and if I were in the online video business I might even consider buying their software – if it were $20 for a lifetime license (as opposed to the ridiculous price tag of $100 per month).”
In response to the above review a satisfied member of Traffic Geyser said that it was possible, at one time, to use the Traffic Geyser system for even less than $97 per month.
“I personally use this service and am pleased, to say the least, with the results. Also, if you look you’ll see that there are three levels of membership the entry level being like $39.00/mo or something not $100. I agree that if you have NO marketing budget submitting to just YouTube or similar site may be your only option and better than nothing, but don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater here. AdWords COST MONEY TOO! This service WORKS! And it works fast.”
You’ll have to go elsewhere for a review of how Traffic Geyser works as I won’t be investing the $2,497 to check it out – that’s just a bit much for me.
I’ve found a service called Tube Mogul that will post up to 500 videos per month to multiple sites for FREE!
